The Bully Dog Power Pup Downloaders for gas trucks are engineered to significantly improve performance and driveability. They will enhance towing as well as all out performance. With special tuning for different octane level gas and special transmission tuning for shift pressure and shift points, the Bully Dog Power Pup downloader is the best chip for gas trucks on the market. Other features include speed limiter adjustment, shift adjustment, and diagnostics.

 

The Bully Dog Power Pup Downloader is installed by plugging it into the OBDII port under the dash. It saves all of the stock settings and sends the special Bully Dog Tuning making it one of the fastest and easiest ways to increase performance in your truck.

  • The Bully Dog Power Pup Downloader is a programmer/tuner that downloads horsepower and performance enhancing programs into 2004-2007 Ford F-150s with either 4.6L or 5.4L V8 engines. The downloader offers two different engine tunes above stock to accommodate various driving conditions. 

  • Stock Tune: Choosing the Stock Engine Tune will result in not change to engine horsepower output, but all other downloader features are available.

    Regular Tune: The Regular Engine Tune is recommended for use with 85 or 87 octane gasoline. For maximum effectiveness it is recommend that shift firmness and shift points be increased. This tune can be used for everyday driving and towing. Dyno Results showed a 10-12 HP increase with this tune.

    Premium Tune: The Premium Engine Tune is recommended for use with 91 or 93 octane gasoline. Again increases in shift firmness and shift points are recommended with this tune. This tune can be used for everyday driving and off highway racing.  Dynamometer testing results have shown up to 22 horsepower and 24 lbs. ft. torque increase, on the premium tune, to the rear wheels.

    Transmission Tuning:  The Transmission tuning feature allows the user the ability to increase shift firmness which will help shifts become more positive, firm, and quick. Users will choose between the following two options:

  • • Firm: increase shift firmness and modifies shift points, recommended for regular and premium engine tunes.

  • • Stock: Produces no change in shift firmness.
  •  
  • Transmission Shift Points:  Transmission shift points can be adjusted between each gear; adjust shift points from 4400 rpm up to 5800 rpm. Setting the transmission shift point will only effect the shift point under full throttle, the vehicle will shift at a lower rpm under a lower throttle percentage. Changing these shift points only effects the highest limit to which the vehicle can reach before shifting.

  • Speed Limiter:
  • The stock OEM speed limiter will limit the vehicle to a top speed that is determined by the OEM. The Power Pup speed limiter function allows the user to adjust the vehicles top speed from 40 mph to 126 mph in increments of 2mph. The OEM speed limiter will be displayed on the power pup screen when the user opts to change their speed limiter. The vehicle speed limiter should only be adjusted upward for racing purposes and should never be used upon a public road or highway.

  • Diagnostic Trouble Codes:
  • The Power Pup can read and erase diagnostic trouble codes, codes should be checked periodicaly and whenever a warning light appears on the vehicle dash. The trouble codes that are commonly seen on vehicles are described on the Power Pup screen, so it is not neccessary for the end user to refer to the website.
